THE SHOW
Empowering Youth Through
Art & Media
In 2016 filmmaker Sultan Sharrief asked a simple, yet bold question:

"What would happen if every student was given the same opportunities; if every child had the freedom to dream their own dreams and imagine their own future?"

Unable to find a solution, he built an answer to his own question. That answer is "Street Cred", a reality show that follows Detroit youth as they learn entertainment industry skills and how to apply their inner strengths and street smarts to a professional context.

Tune in June 17th as "Street Cred" premieres nation wide on PBS World and join us as we start a movement in the Motor City.

THE MISSION
we are part of a larger

The theatrical experience is one of the last remaining vestiges of our public storytelling culture and, thus, impacts the way many people see the world. On what other occasion does the average person sit in silence with a group of strangers and reflect, laugh, and cry? But if films that focus on youth, or women, or people of color cannot get financing or distribution, then that privilege to share one’s story gets limited to big budget films, raunchy sex comedies, or those reflect the status quo in terms of representation. Moviement was created to address this issue.
Moviement is an innovative social entrepreneurship endeavor to promote greater diversity in independent film distribution while simultaneously promoting social justice causes. Moviement uses its unique methodology to increase awareness about a particular film and to mobilize communities in support of the film.
